We are pleased to share that we have added another industry accreditation for excellent operational and quality assurance. Awarded by Lloyd’s Register (LR), a leading international provider of classification, compliance and consultancy services to the marine, offshore and other high value industries, the AM Facility Qualification certification was conferred a few months back upon the successful audit of facility capability, personnel, procedures, systems and equipment. It also reviewed multiple areas of the business such as supplier control, process management, manpower training procedures, HSE (health, safety and environment) and even the reception, handling and storage of material within 3D Metalforge’s AMC (Additive Manufacturing Centre).
A critical part of the audit also involved the certification of the entire metal AM (additive manufacturing) build process as well as post-processing techniques, that cater specially to the maritime sector. As such, this LR certification will specifically help 3D Metalforge’s existing and potential customers in the marine, shipping and offshore companies gain assurance in the quality, safety and performance aspects of the final end-use products that had undergone the additive manufacturing process within the company’s facilities.
